The project has the following objectives:
- Assess Bar Elias dumpsite and conduct a detailed topographic survey and provide a detailed quantification of the amount of waste, and conduct a material characterization of the waste within the dumpsite;
- Assess potential closure and rehabilitation methods in collaboration with MoE, CDR and PMU, taking into consideration social, environmental and technical factors;
- Conduct the social and environmental studies needed to implement the closure and rehabilitation of the dumpsite. Prepare an Environmental Impact Assessment report and assist the CDR in obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Environment;
- Undertake the study and the technical designs for the closure and rehabilitation of the dumpsite.
