A special entity named the 'National Litani River Authority' was established with the following objectives:

First , Implementation of the Litani River project for irrigation, drying, drinking water and electricity within a comprehensive design of Lebanese water according to the lessons carried out by government departments with the assistance of the American technical mission.

Second, to establish a network linking power generation plants in Lebanon.

Third, to create transformation stations and distribution lines from all Lebanese regions.

Fourth , investing in the various sections of the project from the technical and financial points of view.
